Fourwents Ball Joints absorb pipe movement in a variety of applications, including steam and hot water pipe expansion, tank and building settlement , seismic isolation , wavemotion compensation on oil platforms and drill ships, solar panel movement, oil well riser expansion, and safety relief valve escape piping.
Ball joints are made of injected graphite akes with a high carrier, strength bearing Flexible Graphite, which provides lubrication as well as sealing. When Flexible Graphite is combined with a variety of high-strength bearing materials, temperature and pressure ratings are increased.
The ASME Class ball joints have been designed to meet the ASME butt weld valve ratings at 100°F. Standard congurations range from 2" to 12" NPS for classes 150 to 2500.
The sealing system combines ductile iron or alloy steel with injected graphite akes and Flexible Graphite, a synthetic oil carrier. If necessary, Flexible Graphite packing can be injected after installation.
ASME Class Ball Joints have been re tested in accordance with API 6FA and are approved for shipboard use by ABS Americas and Lloyd's Register.
Ow1500 Ball Joints are rated at 1500 PSIG and can withstand temperatures up to 650°F. They are frequently used to compensate for riser expansion on oil eld wellheads, solar panel rotation, and other high-pressure applications.
2" nominal pipe size is available for standard OW1500 ball joints. Refer to ASME Class Ball Joints for other sizes and pressure ratings. Wrought steel is used to make the ball, casing, and retainer. The ball's spherical surface is chrome plated with turn mils of chrome, one mil of hard chrome and one mil of crack-free chrome. A baked-on molybdenum disulde lubricant coating protects the plating.
The sealing system consists of ductile iron inner and outer seals (Number 21) with injected graphite akes and Flexible Graphite as a synthetic oil carrier.
Available in a variety of materials, sizes
ranging from 1/2" to 24",
pressure classes up to ASME 4500#, and
temperatures reaching 1500°F.
The “FOURWENTS” Golden-Lock clamp connector is a reliable and small 4-bolt tting that was created as a high-performance substitute for anges.
For use in piping systems needing high integrity seals in applications involving corrosive, erosive, high temperature, high pressure, and cyclic environments, the “FOURWENTS” Golden-Lock clamp connection is a dependable, simple-toassemble, metal-to-metal sealed connector. It is designed to work with compressors, pumps, manifolds, valves, pressure vessel nozzles, and closures.
The clamp joint is constructed using two clamps, two hubs, one seal ring, four studs, and eight nuts.
The hub sealing surface is interfaced with a reusable, zero leakage seal ring to provide high integrity and a strong seal. In order to provide a self-energized seal during operation, the joint conguration makes sure that the seal ring is elastically loaded during assembly.
